The Benefits of having Your Alarm System Monitored - Peace of Mind
___________________________________________________________________________
It is my view that the only way you can have true peace of mind is to have your alarm system professionally monitored. Because the emergency response centre will have a list of contacts to call on your behalf as well as detailed instructions from you as to what to do in an alarm event, we can act upon the signal/s received and respond accordingly.
There are no missed calls so you can be assured of a quick response to all alarm events. If you are away from your premises for an hour or away for a month, our emergency response centre operators are standing by watching over your premises by monitoring any alarm events received and acting promptly as per your instructions.
Some of the other benefits of monitoring are -
A monitored system provides access to emergency
services, Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade via the
monitoring room by pressing the emergency buttons
located on the code pad. Police emergency can also be
activated by a remote control. A non monitored system
cannot provide these services.
A monitored system sends a weekly test signal to the
emergency response centre to report in “all OK”, the
alarm system is functionally normally. In case a fault is
detected in the system, this information is reported
during the weekly test report or in some cases, the
fault may be reported immediately. If the test signal is
not received or there is a fault reported, we act upon
it and notify you so action can be taken to rectify the
fault.
A monitored system provides detailed information in case of any alarm event being generated from the premises. Signals for emergency services as well as an intruder being detected are sent immediately and interpreted by the monitoring station computers for immediate action. Each sensor activation can be determined by location within the premises, bedroom, office, lounge room etc. If an intruder has entered the premises, we can determine which room or rooms have been entered where sensors are located.
A monitored system notifies the emergency response centre in the event of a black-out occurring. In the event of a power failure lasting more than an hour, the system will report to the emergency response centre whereupon we will contact you to report the power loss. If there has been a power failure in the area or the power has been turned off by someone attempting to obtain access to the premises after the battery goes flat, we will know the power is off at the premises and we will advise you so you can take the appropriate action.
